Holds SDGs Ambassador Meeting to Spread and Promote SDGs
Okayama University held a meeting with SDGs ambassadors on December 12 and 16 at the 50th Anniversary Hall. After learning about problems including environmental issues, the international trends of SDGs, and ways of thinking to solve problems at mini-lectures (Lecturer 12th: Vice-Director INO Hideo, Vice-Director AO Ken, 16th: Vice-Director KANO Mitsunobu, Vice-President YOKOI Atsuhumi), participants had group discussions held on themes set for each day. In addition to the mini-lecture instructors, HASHIGAYA Yoshimasa, coordinator of the International Department Okayama Creation Center, also participated in the discussion, and lively discussions were held.
The theme of the discussion on the 12th was "What can we do to educate students about the SDGs?" Participants offered suggestions, "Why don't ambassadors give presentations with the specialty of each department at the entrance ceremony?" "We will hold classes and reports on the SDGs. It would be better if credits were given as incentives."
Themes on the 16th, "How to achieve the SDGs activities we want to do," include "labeling the SDGs in research," "showing merit to involve people around," and "first of all, we do what we want to do. Then, we will link to the SDGs."
After the meeting, ambassadors could interact with each other and exchanged opinions, making it a meaningful occasion for future activities.
